First Anniversary for Liberty Baptist Church!

It's hard to believe it's been a year since we started! God has been so good! We had a great service on Sept. 25, 2011. Looking forward to seeing what the Lord has for us this next year.

Neighborhood Bible Time- week 4

Well, this is the last Neighborhood Bible Time this year for Liberty Baptist Church.
Being in the mobile home park for the last 2 weeks has proved to be trying...but God was with us through it all. Thank you to the McCurry and Knight families for coming down from Harvest (in Manhattan) to help us. You all were truely a blessing and encouragement! We had 2 kids stay with us the whole time, then some of us adults walked the park and went door-to-door, inviting those to have some free food. All in all, we had 30 this week. We were able to share the Gospel with many, and some said they would try to visit the church. Praise the Lord!!

What a blessing this has all been! God has been victorious in everything. We put our faith and trust in Him, and He's always there! Thank you again to all those who have helped and prayed. What a blessing you all are to us!

Bounce House Fun Time!!!

On the flyer for Neighborhood Bible Time, we had promised a bounce house for the kids in our apartment complex. Because of the weather and wet ground, we were unable to do at the time and promised the kids when the weather was nice, we would do it.

So, this past Friday, we kept our promise. When the kids got off the school bus, there was the bounce house...waiting for them. They were very excited. We had about 30 kids come and join in the fun.

The Bible Way to Heaven

1. We Must Recognize Our Condition
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) No one is good enough to go to Heaven on his own merit. No matter how good or moral we are, we still fall short. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…” (Titus 3:5)

2. We Must Realize the Penalty for Our Sin
“For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23a). A wage is our “earnings’ or “hire”. The wage (or penalty) of our sin is eternal death. According to the Bible, there is a punishment for our sin. This is a complete and permanent separation from God in a place He called Hell.

3. We Must Understand that Christ Died in Our Place
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) Jesus Christ’s great love for us was shown when He died on the cross of Calvary to pay our sin debt. “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” (I John 4:9) “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit:” (I Peter 3:18)

4. We Must by Faith, Trust Jesus Christ Alone as Our Saviour
“...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23b). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). Everlasting life and an eternal home in Heaven is a gift that was purchased by the shed blood of Jesus Christ and is offered freely to anyone who, by faith, will call upon His name. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

This can all be summed up in one of the most recognizable verses from the Bible. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” If you understand what the Bible says and want to go to Heaven, you can! Simply put your trust in Jesus Christ and ask Him to save you.
